The newsletter included the following components:
- Introduction to Hong Kong Young Ambassador Alumni Association
- Introduction of the committee members of the 2007/08 Alumni Association
- Review of 2007/08 Hong Kong Young Ambassador Alumni Association events.

 

BBQ Gathering

Objectives:

To create a better communication platform for both alumni and newly appointed Young Ambassadors.

To strengthen better team spirit among Young Ambassadors participated in different years.

To gain interactive suggestion and recommendation of Hong Kong Young Ambassador Alumni Association.

Programme content:

The BBQ activity was chiefly providing an opportunity for Hong Kong Young Ambassador Alumni Association members and Young Ambassadors to get to know each other. We specially invited some experienced members to sit among the newly appointed Young Ambassadors in order to initiate and facilitate the sharing session. The “Star of the stars” voting gave a chance to every member for appreciating some outstanding alumni.

 

“Fairy Ferry 2007” Star Ferry's Habour Tour

On-board of “Shining Star” & at the Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Pier

More than 2600 visitors on board and at the pier

Objectives:

-

To promote a hospitable Hong Kong to tourists through Christmas ferry journey celebration.

-

To introduce our traditional transport, “Star” ferry, to tourists, and to encourage them to go sightseeing by “Star” ferry.

-

To increase public awareness of the importance of creating a friendly environment for tourism.

Programme content:

This is a programme jointly organized with The “Star” Ferry Company, Limited. To promote Hong Kong and celebrate a joyful Christmas with local residents and tourists, helpers were stationed at the Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry pier to distribute souvenirs as well as inviting them to have their imprints smeared on a banner “We love HK”. Those on board sang Christmas carols accompanied by live music. A photo taking service was provided and the photos were emailed to the tourists after the trip.

 

2006

FAIRY FERRY 2006

Shinning Star, The Star Ferry's Harbour Tour & Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Pier

To other Hong Kong hospitality to tourists during the celebration Christmas ferry journey.

To increase public awareness of the importance of creating a friendly environment for tourists.

Programme content:

This is a programme jointly organized with the “Star” Ferry Company Limited. There were 4 round-trip sessions every night, each session lasted for 1 hour.  H elpers were stationed at the Tsim Sha Tsui pier to welcome tourists. Those on board sang Christmas carols accompanied by live music. A photo taking service was provided and the photos were emailed to the tourists after the trip.

5th Anniversary Bulletin

To celebrate the 5th anniversary of HKYAS and to review important events and contributions made by the Scheme in the past 5 years.

To serve as a newsletter for internal circulation and to update past and current YAs as well as alumni with the latest news about HKYAS

Programme content:

This commemorative bulletin is about the 5th anniversary of HKYAS. The content includes a brief history of the HKYAAA and YA's sharing of memorable and interesting experiences as well as services rendered over the few past years.


5th Anniversary Dinner

Shing Hin Chinese Restaurant, City University of Hong Kong

To celebrate the 5th anniversary of HKYAS

A reunion to create connections among YAs from different years

Programme content:

New HKYAAA committee members and staff of the HKYAS Secretariat attended the dinner. A lucky draw was held after the meal. All participants enjoyed this gathering with old and new friends.


Discover Hong Kong Quiz 2006

To encourage secondary students to learn about Hong Kong and its tourism

To build a sense of belonging among young people

Programme content:

Students in teams of three participated in a quiz. Short-listed teams then took part in a discussion. Five teams were selected as finalists.


Fairy Ferry 2005 – Star Ferry's Harbour Tour

To spread the message of Hong Kong's hospitality to tourists and local resident

To increase public awareness of the importance of creating a friendly environment for tourists

Programme content:

This is a programme jointly organized with the “Star” Ferry Company Limited at Christmas. YAs were stationed at the Tsim Sha Tsui pier. They distributed souvenirs and balloons to tourists and local residents. Those on board sang Christmas carols accompanied by live music. A photo taking service was provided and the photos were emailed to the tourists after the trip.

This is a welcoming service in co-operation with the “Star” Ferry Company Limited. There were 4 round trip sessions every night, each session lasted for 1 hour. About 9 – 14 helpers were stationed at the Tsim Sha Tsui pier for welcoming tourists. Helpers on board sang Christmas carols accompanied by live music. We also had photo taking services, helpers would add special frames on the photos and emailed them back to the tourists after the trip.

-         To promote Hong Kong’s hospitality to overseas visitors attending the conference.

-         To increase public image of Hong Kong tourism to overseas visitors.
Programme content:
HKYAAA members act as a mentor to new HKYAS members, who were the first time to take part in promotional activities. Experiences were shared.

Easter Project –Formerly “PINS & EGGS” – Easter Project

Objectives:
-         To promote Hong Kong hospitality to tourists and create a festive Easter atmosphere through the souvenir distributing activity.
-         To support and encourage YA(s) to organize promotional activities by collaborating with HKYAS.
-         To increase public awareness of the importance of creating a friendly environment for tourism.
Programme content:
Helpers stationed at the Peak from 2 – 6 pm everyday during the service period. HKYAAA was in charge of one of the booths in the Peak Carnival. Helpers also gave out souvenirs to visiting tourists.
